Newport
as it is

"These aren't my photographs.
I just happened to be holding the camera."

Newport has its own light — the way the bay catches an evening sky, the stillness of the Cliff Walk before the crowds arrive, the sky above the harbor doing something improbable. This site is a record of being present for those moments.

Living here.
Noticing things.

I've been on Aquidneck Island for about eight years. I shoot with a Canon 80D — nothing exotic. Most of these photos happened because I was already somewhere and the light did something worth pointing a camera at.

This isn't a studio. There's no booking page. These are just the photographs that made me stop and look.
